Easter Recipe Cancelled in Last Minute Shock Decision

Allergy world thrown into turmoil by 'selfish decision'.

Allergy sufferers all over the world tonight voiced outrage at the last minute decision by Pig in the Kitchen to cancel her Simnel Cake Recipe for Easter.  With just days to go before the Easter break Pig broke the news on the social networking site, Twitter.  In a matter of hours the news spread across cyberspace.

'I feel very let down and emotional' said an avid follower of Pig's blog.  'I had planned my entire Easter weekend menu using Pig's wonderful creations and all I needed was that Simnel Cake recipe.  She even joked about it on Twitter last week.  It's very distressing, a selfish decision on her part.'

There was no clear indication from the allergy guru as to why she has cancelled her recipe plans at such short notice, although a spokesman for PITK Ltd issued the following statement,
'Pig is obviously very upset that she has let down her loyal supporters.  She would rather not comment on the reasons for the decision at this present time.'

However, a source close to Pig hinted that family stress and poor time management might have prompted the popular writer to make the announcement.
'She has just been terribly disorganised and not really planned things very well.  A few of her children have had minor mishaps and it's taking her a while to get herself back on track.  I don't think it helped that she got a bit confused about the actual Easter date and just sort of ran out of time.'

A leading female blogger, who did not want to be named, reacted with scorn to the news.
'Pig used to be a lively voice in the blogosphere, but in the last few months she has really let it all go.  She is rarely present at her own blog and almost never leaves comments on other blogs.  Pig will really need to raise her game if she wants her fans to remain loyal.'

It is not known when Pig will post another recipe, but it seems that this tumultuous announcement will not have endeared her to her followers.

Life is hard enough without having to deal with allergies. I know. I'll bear with you, Pig! It's been a long winter ....

Awwww Pig (((hugs)))

Is fine, You have so many recipes to use. It doesn't matter. I hope you and the kids are ok....(((hugs)))

If my good news might help I'll tell you. I just got a new oven and tried out the swan bread (I have made it before and it didn't work but that was down to my crappy old oven) and it worked! Its the most amazing bread I ever made and I couldn't be happier. I nearly cried it was so good.

Poor Pig, sounds like you've a lot on your plate. Don't worry about the recipe, lovely just to read your post.
And don't let the press get to you! They're just looking for headlines!

I'm going to go and buy Hello Magazine and see if I can get the scoop on this one. The blog is very tight-lipped...

No worries here - I don't like marzipan :-)

((hugs)) You do what you need to do. People will have to come up with their own recipes instead - and maybe post them here to show us what they made?!

YOU'VE RUINED EASTER

'Pig in the Kitchen would like all her readers to know that she is mortified at her failure to deliver.

She feels particularly bad about Flo'bear's comment, but very happy that Janine has made Swan bread.

She would like to inform the Newstead 6 that no marzipan would have been used in the cake, and she is gutted that she had ordered a marzipan substitute specially and will now not get to use it (perhaps she will save that for the (mythical) recipe book).

To Mimi she would like to agree that the Press and paps who have been beseiging her since the announcement are fit only for the gutter.

To Iota she says, 'Try 'Heat' instead of Hello.' ENDS

'She would like to add that her word verification is 'soppyrat'. She feels that this must have some significance.' ENDS

Hmph. So what am I supposed to do now? Perhaps I can beat Iota to Heat; there may be a bidding war.

The Grit family would like to announce that last night they had to eat HAIR in the POTATOES once AGAIN, and this hairy potato situation was in all likelihood down to the despair brought about by this sorry episode. Only a public inquiry may suffice.

Having been thrown to the wolves this Easter, by none other than PITK, we were forced to fall back on our wits, and looked back through the annals of time to Pig's HOT CROSS BUNS....

Made them at 3pm. ALL gone by 5pm. Completely, celebratorily delicious. You're a bit of a genius, Pig.

Made them with agave, by the way, instead of sugar/golden syrup, and you wouldn't have known.

HAPPY EASTER x

Hun, we blog for FUN, not because people demand it of us, and as one who has not bothered to do any blogging now for a number of months, I totally understand that life, children and whatever else sometimes take over.

You need not give reasons or excuses if you don't want and anyone who is that rude should jolly well go and ........I'll stop there :P

Hang in there! Most of us will be here if and when you decide or are able to post again xxx

Love your humour, pig, with or without recipes on time! Come up with something using the marzipan substitute, why don't you? Who says you have to use it at only the 'right' time? And children will turn your world on it's ear when you least expect it, no matter what you plan. We love them anyway! ;)
